Through the Dark of Every Day

Through the Dark of Every Day and the Noon of Every Night

In the beginning the end seems like a world unto itself – distant and aloof.
But as the earth revolves and the sunrise and sunsets of millions of years blur in a golden arc across the blue-black sky, meaning is transformed and the soul leaps forward to become commander of the ship. The sails are taut and the direction is clear and the stars shine giving clear direction to the wandering fleet.

Through the dark of every day and the noon of every night
the Sound of waves soothe the sailor’s restless minds and
The creak of the mast and the rock of the ship lulls them to sleep, deeper and deeper
Until they begin to dream a long and elaborate story.
The dream is vivid and alive and the image of the ship fades away as it slowly makes its way under the captain’s steady hand.

A baby is nestled in his mother’s arm with stars shining behind his soft head.
The rocking reminds him of his home across the sea and he falls asleep and dreams of the place from where he came.

And so the story goes – to be told and retold warming lonely hearts and guiding lost and lonely souls.
